Today, I went to Michael's and found these precious tins on clearance. I crocheted two scrunchies for my little grand daughter, Abigail. The little tin is to serve as a gift box to hold them. I sure hope she likes the little gift. I made the scrunchies with sock yarn, I find it works best because it stretches with the pony tail band. I found the pattern here!

My Summer Project:
I bought this little treasure from a garage sale for less than $20 two years ago. At the time, I wasn't sure where I wanted to put it in my home. Now that I have the perfect place for it, I am ready to tackle my little treasure and make it into something pretty. Still tossing colors around in my head, but I'm getting there. After all, a job worth doing is a job worth doing well.

And yes, our garage is a mess and will get cleaned this summer as always. Because winters here are so long, I am afraid it doesn't get cleaned as often as I would like. My husband is always working on something or other out there. But, I don't mind cause he is a good
do- it -yourself-er and that saves us tons of money.

On My Hook/Off My Machine:

Hello Everyone,
I have decided to crochet a simple, but elegant pattern:
A Big Granny Square
This allows my mind time to focus on matters at hand while I crochet. As you can see, I still have a ways to go before I can post the finished project. I really like the color scheme.
Hope you do too.

Now for what's off my machine. If you remember, I was working on a quilt here. Well, I am finally  able to post the finished project. I don't quilt as often as I would like, because I get so consumed with crocheting. But, it is a good thing when I can get to my sewing machine.

My thought for today: So much, but yet so little.
So much to do and so little of me to do them.

TA DA! Wednesday!
I am so excited to post my finished  Sunburst Granny Afghan.
It was a lengthy, but rewarding project.  I just love all the colors; looks like summer is here. I made this afghan using my
stash/buster yarn.

I would also like to post a picture of an afghan which I finished years ago. Thought that this would be a good time to show it because it also reminds me of summer.

Over Indulging: Part I

Yes, I am confessing my over spending to everyone. And I must confess that I loved every minute of it.

I found this beautiful bowl at Michael's at quite a good price and I just had to purchase it.

Over the weekend, my husband and I visited a local Russian store. I love Russian candy and couldn't refuse myself a few morsels. It is quite pricey, but well worth it, occasionally.

Well, I had to purchase a couple crochet books at our local craft store. After all, I was over indulging.

And yes, there is a Part II to my over indulging. As soon, as I can figure out how I am going to take the pictures, I will post.

Forever Learning:

My blog is still  very new to me or I should say that I am still so very new to my blog. I just discovered how to add pictures of my afghans to the  side bars.  I also discovered  how to link them back to my blog. So, if you click on any image to the right of my blog  under the heading "Photo Gallery", it will take you directly to it's link on my blog. I just love it when I learn something new. Makes me feel good!

Have a Wonderful Day!

My Other Passion: Embroidering Pillowcases

There are lots more to come! Once I can press them open properly, I will take pictures and post them to my blog. Hint: These are some of the hidden treasures in my boxes. I am slow in posting them because my life is so full. So please be patient with me.

Progress Underway: Sunburst Granny Squares!

I just could not resist posting my progress on these lovely squares. I must admit, it is taking  longer than expected to finish this project. With three more rows waiting to be connected, a few more squares to make, some loose ends to tie, and a lovely border to add: I will finally be able to say TA DA! I know it's not the next post I promised, but I just couldn't resist!

Treasures From the Heart:

I named this post, Treasures From the Heart, because  these boxes hold another  passion which comes from my heart. I would like to open my boxes and share them with you. My  hope is that  you will enjoy these hidden treasures as much as I do!

More Ripples:

Pumpkin Patch is what I called this one!

Pinocchio is what I called this one!

Last year we had an exchange student from Germany who came to live with us for 10 months. I made these two afghans for her as gifts. I chose a simple ripple pattern, took three strands of yarn for the Pumpkin Patch afghan, and two strands for the Pinocchio afghan. By doing so, I created my own designs. Enjoy! Any ripple pattern will do.This is an older post that I am re posting because you couldn't see the second afghan in my former post without clicking on read more.  I wasn't pleased with how the post was initially set up, so I re posted it.

These squares have also been on my crochet hook for quite some time now. I have already made 80 squares and have 20 more to go. It's count down time for these precious squares. I can't wait until it is all finished, so I can post a picture of the afghan. It has been such a wonderful way to get rid of scrap thread. I probably have enough thread to made 1,000 or more squares.

 New Projects!

This is what's on my sewing machine!  It's a project which I started last year, think it's time to finish it. This is another one of my favorite pastimes.

I have so many quilts in my craft room waiting to be quilted. So, I guess it's time for me to get busy and quilt them.

This is what's on my crochet hook! S-P-R-I-N-G

I am so ready for SPRING and EASTER, so I decided what better place to usher it in than on my crochet hook!
